Actions for Publication Ethics Violations

Authorship Identification

Authorship identification requires assurance that each listed author has contributed substantially to the research. If editorial doubts arise regarding an author's competence relating to manuscript content, scientific field, or publication history, authors must detail individual contributions, emphasizing the questioned author's role. Authorship guarantees are formalized in the License Agreement between the authors (Licensor) and the publisher (Licensee).

This process prevents ghost authors (unacknowledged contributors), guest authors (non-contributors added for prestige), and gift authors (added for favors). Identified cases trigger COPE recommendations.

Plagiarism and Self-Plagiarism Policy

IJPEYHS rejects material containing plagiarism or self-plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts undergo licensed software screening. Identified cases receive detailed analysis:

  • Confirmed plagiarism (lack of proper attribution) = immediate rejection without reconsideration
  • Self-plagiarism = rejection with notification of insufficient originality
  • ≤20% similarity (excluding references) allowed; exceedances require author correction within deadline. Non-compliance results in rejection.

Competing Interests, Retraction & Complaints

Competing Interests: Authors must declare all financial/non-financial competing interests at submission for transparency. Undisclosed conflicts discovered during review require reviewer recusal and trigger COPE protocols.

Article Retraction Policy:

Retraction follows a five-step process:

  • 1. Investigation initiation regarding retraction need
  • 2. Retraction feasibility assessment
  • 3. Published article removal
  • 4. Retraction notice creation
  • 5. Consideration of amendments to published content

Handling Complaints:If complaints are received by the editorial office, their validity is checked. Reasoned complaints are considered as per COPE recommendations. Complaints are accepted only if filed officially without a defamatory nature. Defamatory comments/ statements shall not be entertained, and unsubstantiated complaints require supporting facts/arguments. Without sufficient evidence, complaints are not considered. Valid complaints about published articles trigger the article recall policy. IJPEYHS editorial implements all procedures ensuring ethical standards and academic integrity.

Prevention of Manipulation: Manipulation includes falsified data, plagiarism, substituted review results, or conditions preventing independent reviewer assessment. Suspected cases follow COPE recommendations:

Archiving

IJPEYHS distributes archiving content via DOI CrossRef and numerous libraries/information centers, ensuring long-term comprehensive archive storage with automatic restoration of damaged information. Authors may deposit versions in institutional/other repositories of choice.

Copyright Notice

Copyright transfer/identification via License Agreement. Authors retain authorship rights, grant first publication to IJPEYHS under Creative Commons CC BY terms. Authors may negotiate additional non-exclusive distribution agreements, provided original publication link preserved.

Open Peer Review Details

Open Peer Review involves openness in: author/reviewer identities, review content publication, community participation, author-editor-reviewer interaction, pre-publication review, post-publication commenting, and decoupled platforms.

    Collaborative Evaluation Elements:

  • Author/reviewer identities known (no blind system)
  • Essential interaction between authors, editors, and reviewers
  • Open pre-publication review for best article selection

    Three Evaluation Scenarios:

  • 1. Positive: Minor additions/changes; editor communicates reviewer recommendations
  • 2. Negative: Rejection due to lack of insight/originality/applicability;confidential reviewer identity
  • 3. Unclear/Inconsistent: Author provides additional information; collaborative clarification
